Northampton: Garage sale set for June 8
Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1301 Newport Ave., will hold a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8.

Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, 1324 Newport Ave., will hold its annual church festival 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. June 9 on the church grounds.
Food will include ethnic favorites like pierogies, longosh, haluski, egg rolls and potato pancakes. There will also be hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage sandwiches, turkey barbecue, Aw Shucks corn on the cob, funnel cake fries, French fries, Mario’s pizza, macaroni and cheese, waffle ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, soft drinks and beer, wine and slushies. A bake sale will take place in the church social hall.
Other activities includes Rainbow Dog Entertainment 1-4 p.m., face painting, balloon animals and Kandi’s Karicatures 3-7 p.m. and a cash raffle, a basket raffle and bingo in the school gym.
Musical entertainment will be Dave Betz Polka Band 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and Flirtin’ with the Mob 4-7:45 p.m.

Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., is having a hoagie and sandwich sale. The hoagies are Italian or tuna, and the sandwiches are ham and cheese or tuna.
Order forms can be picked up 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the church office weekdays or downloaded on the church website at graceuccchurch.com. Orders and payment are due by June 9.
The pickup date is 4-6 p.m. June 12 at the church.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will hold its picnic 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 19 at the park on Smith Lane.
The event is for ticket holders only. No tickets will be sold at the picnic. Members attending are asked to bring their favorite dessert for everyone to enjoy.
There will not be a meeting June 12.

Northampton Fire Department will be hosting its second annual Northampton Fire Cadet Camp. Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 8-12, with a graduation ceremony July 13, at the station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.
The idea of the camp is to help young adults, ages 12-15, learn what a firefighter does. There will be scheduled events throughout each day that will include hands-on training, team building and more.
There is a cost for the camp, which is open to borough residents only. Maximum capacity is 20 students.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2024-25 academic year.
The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
