Stephen F. Kucey, 69, of Bethlehem, died May 14, 2024. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Stephen J. and Frances (Piff) Kucey. He was the husband of Kathryn (Kathy) Lindgren since 2011.
He attended Bethlehem schools and Mercy Special Learning Center, Allentown.
As a young boy, he participated in the Boy Scouts of America.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church Bethlehem and later in life became a member of The Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem.
He and his wife volunteered at Musikfest and Celtic Classic for many years and helped out in their church and in area nursing homes. They for many years participated in Special Olympics and traveled to regional and state competitions. He was named a Pennsylvania State Special Olympic Athlete of the year and earned the Bethlehem Special Olympics Athlete Hall of Fame award. He was a coach and mentor to the younger players.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Janet Kucey Kovalchick and her husband Andrew of Lower Macungie; father-in-law, Ralph Lindgren; four brothers-in-law, David Repnyek, David Lindgren, Tom Lindgren and Tim Lindgren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane (Kucey) Repnyek.
