Reminder: Catasauqua Area School District will be closed May 27 for Memorial Day. Students will resume normal schedules May 28.

Sheckler Elementary fourth-grade students have several activities planned for this month.

A visit to Catasauqua Middle School is planned for May 29, and water day will be held May 31.

Sheckler students will be dismissed noon June 3, 4, 5 and 6. The last day for Sheckler students is June 6.

Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association is hosting a movie night June 8 at the CYAA field, 890 Walnut St. The movie will be “Inside Out” and begins sunset. Gates open 7:30 p.m.

There will be deejay entertainment and face painting. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket. No outside food or drinks are permitted; the concession stand will be open.

Presale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors. There is no charge for children under age 3. A free bag of popcorn comes with each ticket.

Sheckler has partnered with Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 to offer students a summer camp opportunity at Sheckler.

Young Stemologist Academy is a camp that explores the wonders of STEM and is open for students in grades 2-4.

The program will run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 25 and 26 and is $25 per child.
