Pat Knopf, director of Northampton Farmers Market, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 14 to kick off the 2024 season. The market is held 3-6 p.m. every Tuesday at Municipal Park, Laubach Avenue and Smith Lane.
Joining Knopf to cut the ribbon were Northampton Borough Mayor Anthony Pristash and a representative for state Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd. Both Mako’s representative and Pristash wished Pat Knopf and the Northampton Farmers Market much success during the 2024 season.
Knopf said more vendors were added this season, including a hot dog stand called Ron’s Dogs run by Pat’s husband and Northampton Borough Councilman Ron Knopf, as well as Nishi’s Vegan Creations from Stroudsburg. Visit nishisvegancreations.com for more information.
Knopf also has a new distillery present at the Northampton market called Silverback Distillery, from East Stroudsburg. The distillery is the only mother/daughter- operated distillery in the United States. Silverback won an award at a New Orleans bourbon festival. Visit sbdistillery.com for more information.
Other vendors include Nana’s Fresh Baked Goods, from Moore Township; Healthy Delight seasoning; Amanda Housenick’s homemade cookies and pastries; Riffey Farm and Market’s fresh produce, from Schuylkill Haven; Graver’s Farmstead’s grass-fed beef and farm-raised pork; and Lehigh Valley Peanut Butter, from Macungie, and operated by Monica Lockhart.
Pat Knopf said she was delighted with the first day of the market. More vendors are expected as the season progresses.
