As a graduating high school senior, I write this column as my final contribution to the East Penn Press’ Hornet Happenings. Having written this column since my sophomore year, I am beyond grateful for the journalism experience offered by this position, along with the fond memories I’ve created while covering East Penn School District events.

In the fall of 2024, I will further my academic career at Boston University, studying human physiology on a pre-med track. As I say goodbye to my time as the Hornet Happenings author, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Debra Galbraith and the rest of the Lehigh Valley Press for their continued support of my writing.

Editor’s Note: Emma Dela Cruz has been a wonderful asset to the Lehigh Valley Press, informing parents, grandparents and residents about the many school district activities through her years of writing this column. We are sorry to see her go; however, we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
