William J. Ochs
William “Bill” J. Ochs, 67, of Germansville, died May 12, 2024, peacefully in his sleep, with his faithful, furry companion, Coco, by his side, at home. He and his wife, Kathryn “Kathy” (Yale) Ochs, were married more than 28 years.
Born Aug. 9, 1956, in Summit, N.J., he was the son of the late Francis J. Ochs Sr., and Kathleen (Culbertson) Ochs.
A 1974 graduate of Parkland High School, he was a forklift driver at the former True Value Distribution Center, Fogelsville, for more than 26 years.
Before that, he had various jobs in the Lehigh Valley.
He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.
Also known as Willie, he was a great, strong, selfless man who would do anything for anyone.
He loved deer hunting, particularly with his bow, and he took immense pride in caring for his home, yard and pool.
A self-taught, accomplished musician, he played both bass and guitar.
He enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State sports.
Above all, he was a devoted husband and father to Sarah, who was his pride and joy.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sarah J. Ochs and her partner, James J. Unell, of Alburtis; siblings Kathleen Dawson, John (Anne) Ochs, Sally Ragosta, Art (Ann) Ochs, twin brother, Bob (Sheba) Ochs, and Mary Cole; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Frank and Tom.
His memorial service will be 2 p.m. May 20 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Kris P. Snyder officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 1-2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
