Trojan track teams remain unbeaten
The Parkland track and field teams improved to 7-0 this season with wins over Easton, Nazareth and Bethlehem Catholic last week.
The Parkland girls team beat the Red Rovers 92.5-57.5. Kaley Seide (100, 200) won two events for Parkland at the meet.
The Trojan boys team beat Easton 107-43. Andrew Beers (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Leo Dauberman (discus, javelin) won two events each against the Rovers.
In a trimeet against Bethlehem Catholic and Nazareth, the Parkland boys team beat the Blue Eagles 121-24 and topped the Golden Hawks 137-8. Beers won both hurdle events at the meet, while teammate Julius Reyes took first place in shot put and discus.
The Trojans girls team beat Nazareth 115.66-34.33 and cruised to a 145-5 win over the Golden Hawks. Seide (100, long jump) won two events for Parkland.
Several Trojans also competed in the 97th Roddick High School Invitational at Shippensburg University on Saturday, April 20.
Andrew Beers posted the highest finish of any Trojan, taking second place in the 110-meter hurdles at Shippensburg’s Seth Grove Stadium.
A number of Parkland athletes finished in the top 10 at the invitational. Nathaniel Janukowicz took third place in the 200-meter dash and Leo Dauberman finished third in javelin. Cierra Valley earned two fourth-place finishes in the girls 200 and 400, while Ethan Willard was fourth in the boys 3,200.
Parkland’s boys 4x100 relay team finished fifth at Shippensburg, while Lucy Tobia (400) and Lana Hurwitz (1,600) took sixth place. Jacob Barnes (1,600) finished seventh at Ship, while Connor Johns (high jump) and Ana Gbur (300 hurdles) were eighth-place finishers. Xander McWhite (100) and Alexander Kelchner (200) took ninth place at the meet.
