Trojan softball team wins three in a row

The Parkland High School softball team had its best week of the 2024 regular season to date last week as it won four games to push its win streak to five games. All four games were won by double figures. Three of them were in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.

The Trojans defeated Pocono Mountain West 16-0 last Wednesday and followed that a day later with a 17-7 victory over Central Catholic. Parkland then won a pair of games 15-0 over Wilson last Saturday on the road and then at home against Allen.

It was a quick, three-inning game with the Panthers as Parkland scored eight runs in its first at-bats and then added four in each of the next two frames to end the game early.

The Trojans finished with nine hits from nine different players, including Ami Patel, Morgan Stuardi, Anna Belletieri, Hana Damra, Scerena Reed, Maria Moore, Chelsea Dietrick, Elizabeth Pinkham and Addison Fritzinger.

Parkland got out in front early against the Vikettes, putting up 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning after they scored three runs in the top half. CCHS then got three more back in the second. The Trojans added more on in the latter half of the game with three runs coming the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings.

Allison Hunsberger led the lineup with three hits and earned the victory inside the circle. Pinkham, Belletieri and Moore all had two hits.

The Trojans scored a run in the first, added four more in the second and then finished off the Warriors with a 10-run third inning. Hunsberger once again had a three-hit day and added two RBIs and scored three runs. Fritzinger, Reed and Moore all finished with two hits. Fritzinger got the win inside the circle.

In another quick game against the Canaries, Parkland brought home three runners in the first, five in the second, six in the third and finished the game off with one in the fourth. Hunsberger and Pinkham both recorded two hits to pace the offense. Hunsberger earned the win inside the circle.

Parkland, which improved its record to 9-3 overall and 8-2 in the conference, is at Northampton on Thursday and hosts Pleasant Valley on Friday. They are then at Whitehall to conclude the week on Saturday.
