The Salisbury softball team picked up its second win of the season last week when it beat Dieruff 13-1.
Falcon pitcher Jenna Swoyer got her first career win, pitching five innings and allowing just on Husky hit. She also hit her first home run of her career, a three-run walk off shot.
Beth Carney, Salisbury’s ace pitcher whose arm had one day of rest, kept her bat lively with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate that included a home run and two doubles. She scored three times in the win.
Amelia Swoyer (2 for 3, 4 RBIs), Gabby DeJesus (2 for 3, 2 R) and Bailee Neitz (2 for 3, 2 R) also had big days at the plate against Dieruff.
Both of Salisbury’s wins this season have come against Allentown School District teams as the Falcons beat Allen 14-4 for their first win of the season on March 15.
The Falcons (2-13 overall; 0-13 Colonial League) lost 12-1 to Northwestern Monday. Carney had two hits in the game for Salisbury.
The Falcons fell 10-0 to league-leading Palmerton last Monday. Carney struck out two Blue Bombers to get to 298 career strike outs.
