Salisbury boys tennis ends successful season

The Salisbury High School boys tennis team competed in District 11 postseason play over the past two weeks.

Monday the Falcons’ season came to an end with a 4-1 loss to Blue Mountain in the District 11 team tournament. The Falcons finish the season 8-4 overall and 7-2 in Colonial League matches for one of the program’s most successful seasons in recent years.

Last week Salisbury’s top singles player, senior Nolan Grejda, competed in the District 11 singles tournament. Seeded seventh in the 16-player field, Grejda dropped his opening match to Central Catholic’s Matt Kennan, 2-6, 7-6, 6-0.

Two Salisbury doubles teams played in last week’s district doubles championships, both pairings were unseeded in a field of 16 doubles teams.

Hans Kloosterman and Ian Young played as one team while Blaine berger and Ahmed Suleiman played as a doubles pairing. Both teams lost their first-round matches.
