PHS girls lax drops three straight games

The Parkland High School girls lacrosse team hit a tough stretch in its regular season as it fell in all three games last week, one in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and the other two were nonconference contests.

The Trojans fell 10-5 last Tuesday night, April 16, in a conference home game. Last Thursday, they came up just short against Northwestern, dropping a one-goal game, 11-10 on the road. Parkland concluded the week the next day with a 17-6 defeat at Council Rock South.

In the game with the Vikettes, Gigi Leonzi finished with a team-high two goals. Addison Winfield, Milla Hahn and Anna Sensinger all had a goal to round out the scoring. Winfield also added an assist. Hailey Smith made nine saves.

Against the Tigers, Leonzi tallied a game-best six goals. Lila Temchatin recorded two goals and an assist and both Lily McAfee and Winfield found the back of the net once with Winfield dishing out an assist. Smith finished with nine saves.

Parkland hosted Southern Lehigh Tuesday night in nonleague action and then goes back into conference for a conference game at Liberty on Thursday. The Trojans then host Moravian Academy on Saturday morning and welcome Nazareth to Parkland High School next Monday night.
