the Northwestern Lehigh girls lacrosse team was in one of those positions where it really needed a win to get back on track this season. After an opening win, the Lady Tigers had lost seven of their next eight games before facing Parkland (4-8) at Tiger Stadium recently.
The Tigers (3-7) got the win that they needed with Olivia Costa and Cara Thomas each scoring three goals in an 11-10 win over the Lady Trojans. They also used an improved defensive showing after allowing 31 goals in their two previous games against Allentown Central Catholic (2-10) and Nazareth (11-3).
Gia DiCarlo got the start in goal for Northwestern Lehigh and recorded 11 saves in the game.
In addition to Costa and Thomas helping the offense, Sydney Wright scored twice and Olivia Fagan, Olivia Spatz, and Mikaela Yanders all scored a goal to get the win.
Next up for the Tigers was Easton (10-1) and the Red Rovers showed why they are one of the best programs in the area this season when they downed Northwestern Lehigh 21-11. The Tigers were unable to stop Jocelyn Morgan, who scored six times and added four assists in the win for the Red Rovers.
Northwestern has three straight road games coming up with games at Freedom (8-4), Northampton (3-11), and Saucon Valley (2-7).
