Hornets fall to PHS in final meet
The Emmaus track and field teams suffered their only losses of 2024 in the final meet of the regular season last week as Parkland swept the Hornets to stay unbeaten and earn this year’s regular season titles.
Parkland’s girls team beat Emmaus 86.33-63.66, while the Trojan boys team won 85-65. Both Emmaus teams finish the season at 8-1.
The Trojans won eight individual events and all three relays in the girls meet. Kayla-Rayne Quinones won two events for the Hornets.
In the boys meet, Parkland won seven of eight individual events on the track and all three throwing events, while Emmaus swept the jumping events led by state champ Kyle Moore’s wins in high jump, long jump and triple jump.
Emmaus will compete in this week’s East Penn Conference Championships at Whitehall High School. See next week’s Press for coverage of the meet. The teams will be back in action May 14-15 in the District 11 Championships at Blue Mountain High School.
