The District 11 lacrosse championships start this Friday in both boys and girls.
Both of Freedom’s teams have qualified for the tournament, as they’ve had a long layoff after not participating in the EPC tournaments.
Six teams qualified in the 3A boys tournament with the seedings and brackets not being released until after Press deadlines.
Freedom figured to be the fifth-seed and would travel to fourth-seeded Parkland on Friday.
Emmaus and Easton played in the EPC championship on Tuesday, with the winner earning the top-seed and the loser likely falling back to the third-seed to have a district quarterfinal matchup with sixth-seeded Nazareth. Delaware Valley and the EPC champion would receive first-round byes.
Semifinals are set for Tuesday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Northampton. Lehigh University will host all the lacrosse championships with the 3A boys playing at 7 p.m. on May 23.
On the girls side, five teams qualified in 3A with Freedom coming in as the fifth-seed. They’ll likely have a quarterfinal showdown at fourth-seeded Nazareth on Friday with the winner taking on top-seeded Pleasant Valley in Monday’s semifinals at Northampton.
The girls championship will be played on May 22 at 7 p.m.
