Field Day for the middle school will be held May 17. Make sure your student wears appropriate clothes and brings a water bottle to stay hydrated.

All township schools will be closed for a professional development day May 24 and May 27 for Memorial Day.

Salisbury Elementary School spring concerts will take place May 28-31. The kindergarten concert will be 9:15 a.m. May 28.

The first grade concert will be 9:15 a.m. May 29.

Second grade will perform 9:15 a.m. May 30 and third grade will perform 9:15 a.m. May 31.

The Salisbury High School awards night will be held 6:30 p.m. May 28 in the auditorium.

The Salisbury Elementary School Ice Cream Festival will be held noon to 4 p.m. June 1. Volunteers are needed.

The Memorial Day committee of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will sponsor a concert with the Allentown Marine Band and patriotic program 7 p.m. June 1. The event will be in the grove, weather permitting.

Salisbury Township would like to remind residents a permit is required for any pool that holds 24 inches or more of water. Visit the township website for permit applications.

The Salisbury Township Department of Public Works is looking to hire summer help. Duties would mostly pertain to park maintenance, cutting grass, trash removal, etc. For more information and to access the application, visit the township website. Applications must be received by May 24.

Food trucks are back at the South Mall. The seventh food truck season will begin May 16 at 3300 Lehigh St., Allentown. They will be in the South Mall parking lot every Thursday May 16 through Sept. 12.

Yard waste drop-offs are open. The Franko site will be open May 16, 18 and 27 and Devonshire will be open May 20, 23 and 25. As always, hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
