Northampton: St. Paul’s UCC to host breakfast May 19

A pancake breakfast will be held 8 a.m.-noon May 19 in the lower level of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1856 Lincoln Ave. The menu includes plain, chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes with optional fruit toppings, sausage and drinks.

There is a cost.

Proceeds will benefit Jacob Bindics’ Eagle Scout service project. Jacob is a Scout with Troop 93 at the church.

Siegfried Railroad Station Museum will be open to visitors 1-4 p.m. May 19. Located on West 21st Street, the station houses artifacts from Northampton and the surrounding areas.

There are permanent exhibits along with special exhibits each year. This year’s special exhibit is about schools - past and present - in the area. Scrapbooks with pictures of servicemen and women who served in World War II are still available to be perused.

There is no charge to visit the museum, but donations are accepted.

Northampton Fire Department is hosting its second annual Northampton Fire Cadet Camp, set for 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 8-12, with a graduation ceremony July 13, at the station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive.

The idea of the camp is to help young adults, ages 12-15, learn what a firefighter does. There will be scheduled events throughout each day that will include hands-on training, team building and more.

There is a cost for the camp, which is open to borough residents only. Maximum capacity is 20 students.

Applications can also be picked up 6-8 p.m. Monday nights at borough hall during work hours or at the fire station.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2024-25 academic year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
