Bath: Farmers market opens for season May 18

The Bath Farmers Market opens May 18 this year and runs Saturdays until Sept. 28 on West Main Street. The hours are set for 9 a.m.-noon.

There are brick walkways, benches, trash receptacles, picnic tables and ample parking. There are also cafe tables on the pedestrian bridge over the Monocacy Creek.

There is a new market manager - Doug Hamadyk. He and his family live in Bath and are very involved in the community. His forte is marketing, and he already has new ideas for the market.

If you have an idea or event you would like to see at the market, contact Hamadyk at bathmarketmanager@gmail.com.

The Bath Farmers Market began 18 years ago in the Bath American Legion.

During the month of May, Emmanuel’s will help Bath Area Food Bank by collecting canned peanut butter, shampoo and soap. There is an ongoing need for ramen noodles and a special request for canned corn.

They are no longer accepting Jell-O or pudding.

Donations for the food bank can be dropped off in the bins in the fellowship hall or the upstairs gathering area.

Bath Area Food Bank is always in need of monetary donations, and A-Hart’s gift cards are needed for emergencies. Bring all gift cards in an envelope marked “food bank” to the church office.
