YLEAD is a leadership and service program for Lehigh Valley high school students (entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall) hosted by Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. Participants in the program develop critical leadership skills while working to support nonprofit organizations through service projects. Boutique At The Rink, Bethlehem, is an organization of Lehigh Valley volunteers dedicated to supporting cancer services in the community through the annual sale of new and gently used items. Volunteers are needed May 3 through May 24 for various positions including receiving/unloading donations, setting up tables & racks, sorting donated items, etc., Mon & Wed from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Tues, Thurs, Fri & Sat from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Contact Jen, 610-861-7555, jgibbs@cancersupportglv.org.

Be a buddy to a camper (ages 6-19) with special needs (or one of their siblings) during Camelot for Children’s summer camp 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, June 17 to Jul 26, and have fun enriching their lives with outdoor activities while keeping them safe. Adults and youth 12 years or older are welcome to help enrich the lives of children with special needs at W Emmaus Ave, Allentown. Community Service Hours available. Grace Community Foundation food pantry in Allentown distributes food every Friday, and the 3rd & 4th Saturday every month. Looking for small groups or individuals to bag & distribute groceries and clean-up. The hours are 8:45-11:15 a.m. each day. Community service hours available. Minimum age 12 with adult. Independent Transportation Network provides rides to seniors and adults with visual impairments. Virtual telephone receptionists are needed in shifts 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday and/or Tuesday to receive requests for services. Training provided. Contact Adele, 610-419-1645, bonshannon@aol.com.

The Moravian Historical Society in Nazareth seeks a team of volunteers to assist with a spring cleanup of its historic grounds. Various tasks, including weeding, mulching, and planting are required to help us get ready for our seasonal events. The cleanup day can be scheduled based on group availability but must take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. any weekday before May 23rd. Contact Susan Ellis, 610-759-5070, sellis@moravianhistory.org.

Humankind Day, hosted by Unidos, Inc is a community event which is held collaboratively with other organizations and the Allentown School District to identify the families of high need and provide supplies and activities to keep their children safe and engaged during the summer months while encouraging continued learning. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 1 at Bucky Boyle Park, but the greatest need is setting up before, and cleaning up after the event. The Whitehall Historical Preservation Society needs assistance with their annual Spring Flea Market on Saturday May 18, either or both shifts of 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rain date is May 19.
