VALLEY WRITERS’ GROUP: Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Group will hold its monthly meeting from 10 a.m. – noon, Saturday, May 18. HI NEIGHBORS FINALE: Hi Neighbors, the speakers program offered by First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, will conclude its spring series with a presentation about the Pentagon Papers trial. On May 20, Dr. John Kincaid will be the featured presenter. He was part of the defense team for Daniel Ellsberg at the Pentagon Papers trial. Get the inside details of what it was like to rub shoulders with Ellsberg, Tom Hayden, Jane Fonda and other peace activists in the early 1970s.
The speakers program offered by First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, 2344 Center St., Bethlehem, begins with a social time at 9:30 a.m. with the program starting at 10 a.m. The program is open to all, and there is no fee or preregistration.

SUMMER C0NCERT SERIES: The Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission (BFAC) proudly presents the annual 2024 Sculpture Garden Concert Series, running every Friday in June from 6-7:30 p.m. This summer’s series reflects the rich cultural diversity of Bethlehem and the greater Lehigh Valley, showcasing music from the best of regional artists who are also nationally and internationally, known.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and/or blanket. If the forecast calls for rain, the concert will be moved inside to the Bob Cohen Room in the Bethlehem Area Public Library (adjacent to City Hall).

FREE FAMILY FILMS: Bring blankets and lawn chairs to Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks Wednesdays beginning May 22 to sit on as you enjoy free family movies under the stars. Free parking is available at the parking lots on First Street immediately adjacent to SteelStacks; food and beverages will be available at the Mack Truck Stop at the Levitt Pavilion, as well as the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, located across the street from the Levitt Pavilion. All films presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network are a part of the Free Family Movie Series on the lawn and will be screened at 6:30 p.m.
SENSORY FRIENDLY: ArtsQuest’s Sensory Friendly Family Film Series is located at the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinema iat SteelStacks. The program is specifically designed for children and adults living with autism and allows everyone to experience the joy of seeing their favorite movies on the big screen. As part of the film screenings, talking and walking are permitted, and stimming (self-regulation behavior) is encouraged. The theater’s house lights are dimmed but remain on, while the film volume is lowered and previews are eliminated, all in an effort to provide a comfortable viewing experience for attendees. Additionally, families with special dietary needs are allowed to bring food from home. All films that are a part of the Sensory Friendly Family Film Series will be screened Wednesdays beginning May 22 at 1:30 p.m.
ADULT DAY CARE’S 4OTH ANNIVERSARY: Since 1984, YWCA Bethlehem Adult Day Service Center has provided continuous care to seniors. YWCA Bethlehem’s Adult Day Service Center prides itself on providing care with the utmost dignity and respect to Lehigh Valley seniors and their families. HOMETOWN HEROES, May 24 to 27. Join Embassy Bank in honoring the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in a community celebration. The commemorative event features the Hometown Heroes 2024 photo-banner, live music and remembrance ceremonies, including, “A Time to Remember,” and “Remember Our Heroes” luminary display honoring those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
From May 25 until July 14 the campus will be draped with images of local military heroes as a display of the appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifices and contributions. The banners will display photos of the soldiers, their rank, branch of service, era of service and hometown.
