Joan J. VanEtten, 88, longtime resident of the Strawberry Patch, Whitehall, died March 31, 2024, at New Eastwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson Borough.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Josephine (Salo) Emmet.
She graduated from Allentown High School in 1954.
She worked in the Whitehall High School cafeteria for 37 years, and worked part time at Fullerton Fire Hall.
She is survived by five children, Scott W., Craig A. and wife Donna, Lee Russell and wife Missy, Debra A. and Matthew J. and wife Danielle; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rita “Tootie” Long and husband Richard.
She was predeceased by a sister, Dolly Reifinger and husband Charles.
There will be a calling time 10 a.m., followed by services 11 a.m., May 19 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
