James E. Miller, 85, of Whitehall and formally of Queens, N.Y., died May 3, 2024, in his home. He was the husband of Delores J. Miller for 62 years.

Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late John S. and T. Ross (Miller).

He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961.

He was employed as an alarm technician for Honeywell, retiring after 24 years of employment. Earlier, he served for more than 10 years as a police officer with the New York Police Department in New York City.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Daniel; a daughter, Deborah Hagicostas; a grandson, Lucas Hagicostas; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by a brother, John S.
