Macungie Borough Council held its regularly scheduled meeting May 6 where a report was given on the progress of Church Street. Sidewalks are being repaired and the project itself is in the permitting stage.
Regular Memorial Day activities will return to the borough this year. Despite the theft of the borough’s flag, a special ceremony with the flag will occur during the Memorial Day events.
The Macungie Volunteer Fire Department’s volunteer firefighter relief funds have been approved to be released.
The sinkhole at the Ridings has been repaired. The homeowner’s association was responsible for the repairs.
The Kay Builders development agreement was approved for Fields at Brookside. The approval had some conditions.
The Mavis Tire plan approval was tabled.
Macungie Borough gave a $500 donation to Lower Macungie Fire Department for their 100-year celebration.
An ordinance committee was formed with Macungie Borough Council President Ron Karposki and council member Robert Rozak heading the group.
An information technology committee was created with Karposki and council member John Yerman leading it.
There were two executive sessions held regarding legal and personnel issues.
