The East Penn Conference volleyball playoffs are set to get underway this week, as the top six teams in the conference battle it out.
Parkland comes in as the top-seed again by virtue of a tiebreaker over second-seeded Emmaus. The Trojans knocked off the Green Hornets in four games last week to get the edge in the seedings. Both teams will have a first-round bye in Tuesday’s quarterfinal round.
Whitehall earned the third-seed and will take on sixth-seeded Northampton and Liberty grabbed the fourth-seed and faced fifth-seeded Nazareth. Both of those games will take place on Tuesday night, but after Press deadlines.
The winner of Whitehall and Northampton will advance to face Emmaus in Thursday’s 5 p.m. semifinal at Allen.
The Zephyrs swept Northampton last week and lost to Emmaus in their season opener, but look primed to challenge Emmaus for a spot in the finals.
Liberty lost to Nazareth in five games in mid-April, so the Hurricanes have a chance at some redemption for the right to face Parkland in Thursday’s 7 p.m. nightcap at Allen.
The league final is set for Wednesday, May 15 at 6:05 p.m. back at Allen.
Parkland has won the last two conference crowns.
