The Colonial League track and field league meet is taking place this week at Whitehall High School, and the seedings were recently released by the league leading up to the event, which started after Catasauqua Press deadlines.

Several records from as far back as the 1980s are still standings heading into this year’s meet. Two of those records belong to Catty’s Debbie Linton from back in 1984. Linton holds the top times in both the 100 and 300 hurdles from that year. Her time in the 100 hurdles was 14.64 and in the 300 was 45.24. The top seed time in the 100 hurdles belongs to Southern Lehigh’s Faith Schiffer, which comes in under Linton’s time and sits at 14.40.

In the shot put, Nazareth’s Penny Roth still holds the top throw of 42-7, which was also set in 1984.

Heather Kromer of Wilson has the top throw in the javelin, which was set in 1985 and went a distance of 140-8.

In the discus event, Stacey Becker of Palisades holds the top mark from her throw of 125-9 back in 1988.

The 1600 record of 5:00.64 still stands from 1987 and belongs to Sue Kozelnicky of Southern Lehigh.

For Catty this season, Hailey Jenkins holds the second seed in both the 100 and 200 events. Jenkins was recently knocked off the top seed in the 100 by Southern Lehigh’s Alexandra Lea, who timed in at 11.80, under Jenkins’ 11.90. The record in the 100 could fall this week as it belong to Saucon Valley’s Talitha Diggs and was 11.92 set in 2019.

Lea’s time in the 200 is 24.30 which is below Diggs’ mark of 24.57, set in 2018. Jenkins sits with a 25.50.

Lauren DeLong is seeded second in the shot put with a throw of 35-2. She trails Northwestern’s Sadie Fenstermaker’s top throw of 37-9.

Abigail Antipas is seeded fourth in the long jump with a distance of 16-6.5. She trails Nataly Walters of Palmerton and her top seed distance of 18-1.5.

On the boys side, the longest standing record dates back to 1983 in the 3200 relay where Southern Lehigh set the mark of 8:02.54. The winning team that year was T. Danissavich, M. Krafczyk, M. McGinty and B. McGinty.

Catty’s Peter LaPointe is seeded fourth in the 400 with a time of 52.30. The top seed belongs to Sean Steckert of Southern Lehigh, which is 51.60.

Josiah Lafond is seeded fourth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.80. Jack Inglis of Southern Lehigh enters with the top time of 39.07.
