Free steering wheel lock devices available May 8

Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan and the Pennsylvania Auto Theft Prevention Authority announced a free event to help prevent vehicle theft of Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

The event will be held 1 to 4 p.m. May 8 at AAA East Central, 2072 Downyflake Lane in Allentown.

There has been a significant increase in the theft of Hyundai and Kia vehicles in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas, according to a news release from authorities. Car thieves are frequently targeting Hyundai and Kia vehicles manufactured between 2011-2022.

To combat such vehicle thefts, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Auto Theft and Insurance Fraud Task Force will distribute free steering wheel lock devices to owners of the types of vehicles listed above.
