Egypt/Cementon: Register for Camp Whitehall
Whitehall Township has announced the dates and times to register for Camp Whitehall and purchase summer 2024 pool passes at the Whitehall Township Municipal Building, 3219 MacArthur Road.
Cash or checks are accepted for payment. No credit cards will be accepted. You must have identification with you.
Register for camp 4:30-7 p.m. May 9 and 9:30-11:30 a.m. May 10. Additional times are available by appointment 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Camp Whitehall will be held at Hokendauqua Playground, 3417 Lehigh St., for kindergarten to sixth-grade students. There is no busing available. Bring a lunch and drinks. There is a cost.
Register per week or per season. The seven weeks of camp are held 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from June 17 to Aug. 2.

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, will host a number of music events, including Big Bone Daddy May 10, Mississippi Pig Farmers Band May 17, Band of Brothers Lehigh Valley May 18 and Stereotype May 25. Concerts begin 7 p.m.
Members attend for free, but there is a cost for guests and nonmembers.
The VFW is also holding other events. Music bingo will be held 7 p.m. May 15, 22 and 29.
A crystal, candle, aromatherapy and wine bingo is set for May 26. Registration is 1 p.m., and games begin 2 p.m.

The first joint Lehigh Valley Knights cornhole charity tournament will take place, rain or shine, noon May 18 at Egypt Memorial Park, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. There will be a kids’ cornhole area as well as 50/50 and basket raffles.
All proceeds benefit Knights of Columbus charities. Bring a food donation for local food pantries.
Register a two-person team via the Scoreholio app under Lehigh Valley Knights or just come cheer for your favorite team. There is a cost to register a team.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative will host a free community meal 4-6 p.m. May 21 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt. Meals are guaranteed for the first 100 guests.

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293 will participate in Memorial Day services held at several locations May 27.
Services will begin 9:30 a.m. at the Cementon memorial on Main Street. Participants will then travel to Egypt for a 10 a.m. service at the Doughboy statue at Park and South Church streets and 10:30 a.m. at the Egypt Park memorial at Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive.
A program involving the township’s other veterans groups - American Legion Post 367, Fullerton; American Legion Jones Quigg Post 739, Hokendauqua; Whitehall Police Honor Guard; and Egypt VFW - is set for 11:30 a.m. at the municipal building.
Following the joint event at the municipal building, the group will conclude its program around 12:30 p.m. at the Post, 5209 Springmill Road.

The 11th annual Egypt Park Festival and Curt Simmons Day will be held 11 a.m.-10 p.m. June 1 at the park. This year’s festival features entertainment by GirlCrue 2-5 p.m. and the Aardvarks 7-10 p.m. The Pennsylvania Outdoor Veterans will host a Wheels of Freedom car, bike and truck show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
New in 2024 is a cupcake baking competition. Contestants are asked to deliver their cupcakes and register noon-1 p.m. Entries will be judged 1:30-2 p.m. The winner will be announced 2 p.m.
Admission is free, but there are costs for food, beverages, basket raffle, bake sale, games and kiddie rides.

Register your children, ages 3 to those completing sixth grade, for Scuba Vacation Bible School at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. VBS is scheduled for 6-8:30 p.m. from June 24 to June 28.
Children will experience a splash-tastic adventure filled with hands-on science experiments, team-building games, Bible songs and treats.
