LV ACADEMY NEWS By: Dhriti Iyer

With the end of the school year soon approaching, the seniors at LVA celebrated their last day of classes April 24 with the grad walk. They walked throughout the building, starting from the elementary school all the way up to the high school. Students and faculty cheered on the seniors to celebrate the a completed milestone.

As a graduating senior myself, I could not stop smiling as I walked past the little kids who were holding all kinds of colorful signs with encouraging words on them. They looked up to us with proud faces, making me recall my times as a kindergartener just starting to learn about the world. It was definitely an emotional day, not just for students, but also for the teachers who watched them grow up.

Grace Perez, grade 12, talked about how she feels now that the seniors are graduating. “I’ve been at LVA for six years, and to be honest, I always looked forward to graduation and ‘finally being able to leave’. But now, these last few moments at LVA have made me cherish the people I’ve grown up with. I will always carry my memories at LVA as I go on to a new adventure!”

Many seniors have also been participating in senior assassin, a common game played in schools where a person is assigned another person who they must target and spray with a water gun outside of school property. The seniors have been having a great time with it!

On April 20 and 21, LVA students gave amazing performances in “The Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson Musical” at Nazareth Middle School. The musical is also a part of the Freddy Awards this year.

On April 18, parents and families were invited to a white coat ceremony that took place at the school to celebrate the end of the PLTW: Biomedical Science course for seniors. Various teachers and students gave speeches to commemorate the end of the program and look back on the last two years.

On May 14, LVA is holding its annual spring concert at the Zoellner Arts Center, directed by Mr. McCartney and Mrs. Mohr. Band and choir students from grades six to 12 will be performing. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Box Office section at www.lvacademy.org!
