Northampton: Historical program scheduled for May 4
Northampton Area Historical Society will present a historical talk 10 a.m. May 4 at borough hall, 1401 Laubach Ave.
The talk will revolve around more than 70 photos of Northampton businesses that developed through the impact of the cement industry. The audience is encouraged to participate in the talk by asking questions and adding remarks to the presentation.
There is no cost to attend the program. Donations will be accepted.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet May 8 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m. in the Atlas Room, where entertainment will be presented.
All members are cordially invited to attend, and the group welcomes any new members or visitors to attend or join.

In addition, picnic tickets will be on sale at this meeting. The picnic will be held June 19.

Queenship of Mary Church and Assumption BVM are planning a bus trip to Sight and Sound Theatre May 10. The bus will depart 4 p.m. from the Queenship of Mary parking lot, 1324 Newport Ave. The show is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The cost includes a box lunch of Potts hot dogs, snacks, soda and water.

Northampton Fire Department is hosting its second annual Northampton Fire Cadet Camp. The camp is set to run 8:30-3:30 p.m. July 8-12, with a graduation ceremony July 13.
The idea of the camp is to help young adults, ages 12-15, learn what a firefighter does. There will be scheduled events throughout each day that will include hands-on training, team building and more.
There is a cost for the camp, which is open to borough residents only. Maximum capacity is 20 students.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2024-25 academic year.
The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.
Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
