Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum: Opening date for 2024 season is scheduled for May 12

Edward Pany, curator of Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum, 1401 Laubach Ave., Northampton, has announced the opening date of the 2024 season at the museum is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. May 12.

Pany and Assistant Curator Sally Madden have worked on many changes to the displays. They are hoping to share the story of the cement industry and Atlas Cement Company’s impact on the Northampton community and the Lehigh Valley.

The museum created its first-ever website, atlascementmuseum.org, and it debuted to rave reviews. The museum also has its own email address: atlascementmuseum@gmail.com.

Following the May 12 reopening of the museum, public hours with free admission will be 1-3 p.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month through Sept. 28.

Private tours for 10 or more people are available by calling 610-262-4562 or by sending an email.
