SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members, parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mother is Deena, my father is David, my brother is Drew and we have three dogs: Sookie, Frankie and Dixie.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject in school is English. I love reading books and writing and it is a class I am able to perform well in. Writing is a joy and passion of mine and my English classes at Salisbury have really helped me learn new skills and also push me to my potential.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been a UCA All American Cheerleader and I am also an active member of National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I am involved in Key Club, Class Advisory, Aevidum, National Honor Society and cheerleading.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. As my high school years come to an end, I plan on attending Moravian University with a major in early education, specializing in special education and a minor in Spanish.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. By far overcoming the ups and downs of high school; learning to persevere through challenges that have come my way whether it be academically or socially. I feel these past four years have been challenging and rewarding and I’m grateful I’ve had challenges I can carry with me as experience.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I’d like to be remembered as kind and that I treated others with respect. Whether it was a smile in the hallway or a small conversation, I want everyone I come across to know they are worthy of their life.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. My biggest inspiration at Salisbury has been athletic trainer Julie Gregory, who saved my life with an AED when I was 14. I admire her actions and aspire to be the hero she has been in my life. Without Julie I wouldn’t be able to experience any of the things I have in the past four years.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Treat everyone with kindness. You never know who is going through what and what you can do to change someone’s whole day. School can be rough and being kind can change a life
