Northwestern girls T&F remains unbeaten

The Northwestern girls track and field team remained undefeated with a sweep at Tuesday’s tri-meet.

The Tiger girls are 6-0 after topping both Palmerton (96-53) and Bangor (121-29). In the boys meet, the Bombers moved to 7-0 with wins over the Tigers (107-43) and Slaters (101-43).

Sadie Fenstermaker won the shot put and discus for the Northwestern girls, who also had Sophia Schaffer (400), Kherington Yezik (800), Sophia Cornell (1600), Devon Heinly (3200), Katie Brensinger (100H) and Grace Yost (pole vault) post wins.

The Tigers swept the relays, as the 4x100 (Schaffer, Carsyn Van Norman, Bailey Murray, Kaia Grantham), 4x400 (McKensey Miller, Yezik, Haley Dubois, Schaffer) and 4x800 (Yezik, Cornell, Heinly, Dubois) all broke the tape in their races.

In the boys meet, Sean Kershner won the 800 and combined with Benjamin Bachman, Francesco Ponte and Greyson Wellings to win the 4x00 relay for the Tigers.
