Kids Roundup Boys lacrosse gets two wins while girls get one
Boys Lacrosse
The boys lacrosse team picked up a couple of lopsided victories in recent action, beating Daniel Boone 15-4 and Saucon Valley 15-5, losing Tuesday to Moravian Academy, however.
Against the Lions, the boys fell 13-7.
Devin Bickel and Anthony DiOdoardo each scored two goals in the loss.
Elijah Block, Jashime Wedderburn and Krystian Komlani each scored one goal.
Bickel and Block each had an assist in the game.
Against Daniel Boone, Bickel scored six times to help lead the way. Block and DiOdoardo both added three goals with Ashtyn Dremock scoring twice and Ben Amato once.
Amato also added three assists with Block and Joe LaForgia each getting two helpers. Bickel, DiOdoardo and Dremock had one assist.
Against Saucon Valley, Bickel had another big day, this time scoring five goals. Block would add four and DiOdoardo scored three times. Amato, Dremock and Grant Brobst scored once.
Block led the way with three assists as Amato and LaForgia both had two. Bickel, DiOdoardo and Brobst had one helper each.
Against Freedom, the boys fell 18-4.
Block scored twice, and Amato and Bickel each had a goal in the loss.
Assists went to Aidan Gmitter and Dremock.
Girls Lacrosse
In girls lacrosse action, Daniel Boone edged NHS 14-13 in OT.
The game was close throughout with the Kids tailing 4-3 after one and 7-6 at halftime. The girls tied it 10-10 heading into the fourth quarter before regulation ended at 13-13.
Brianna Gora scored 5 goals and added 1 assist with Ella Steirer scoring 4 goals. Lauren Resnick scored 3 goals and Anna Caiazzo added one goal.
Izzy Feddor made 13 saves.
DB was led by Lilah Herold with seven goals and an assist.
Northampton was a close, 12-11 winner over Saucon Valley. The girls led throughout the game, taking a 3-2 advantage after one and then led 6-3 at half before taking a slim, 7-6 lead into the fourth quarter.
Brianna Gora scored 4 goals, and secured her 200th draw control in the win. Ella Steirer scored 5 goals.
Lauren Resnick added 2 goals and Mary Drosnock scored once. Brooke Spadaccia came up with 2 assists while Kylie McFetridge and Anna Caiazzo each had one assist.
Izzy Feddor made 7 saves in the win.
Tennis
District 11 singles action started this week.
For the Kids, Dane Missmer advanced to the tournament and took on the four seed Daniel Trott from Pocono Mountain East. Unfortunately for Missmer, he fell in the opening round 6-3, 6-1.
Trott would fall to fifth seed Chris Stone of Emmaus 5-7, 6-3, 6-2. Stone takes on Freedom’s Noah Rodburg in the semis while Emmaus Nick Stone takes on Nazareth’s Gideon Knowles in the other semifinal on Tuesday.
