The Emmaus High School boys lacrosse team was victorious in two nonconference games last week, extending its current win streak to four games.
The Hornets posted their largest margin of victory this season as they won 17-3 over Saucon Valley last Tuesday night at Memorial Field. Emmaus then beat Boyertown, 10-6 on the road to improve to 8-1 overall to go along with a 3-0 mark in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.
The Hornets led from start to finish in taking down the Panthers with multiple players finding the back of the net.
In the victory over the Bears, Emmaus trailed 2-1 after the opening quarter. The second quarter saw the Hornets score three goals to go on top 4-2 at halftime.
Emmaus finished both the third and fourth quarters scoring one more goal than Boyertown and outscored the Bears 6-4 to finish off the game.
Will Barber led the way offensively, finishing with three goals and two assists. Liam Rooney tallied two goals and one assist, while Marcus Puentes also netted two goals. Kaleb Mains, Gabe Chies and Jewlien Torres all finished with one goal with Mains contributing an assist. Sam Rainford finished with 15 saves in goal.
Emmaus has a mixture of conference and nonleague games this week. The Hornets hosted Freedom this past Monday and then welcomed Moravian Academy on Tuesday night. They are at Liberty on Thursday and then play at Southern Lehigh on Saturday in the annual Cross Out Cancer event.
