The Salisbury softball team struggled through a tough week with three losses that extended its skid to seven straight games. The latest setback came against Notre Dame-Green Pond in a 4-1 loss on Monday.
The Falcons (0-7 Colonial, 1-7 overall) managed just two hits against starting pitcher Rachel Fisher, who has turned out to be a freshman phenom for the Crusaders (5-2, 5-3).
Beth Carney and Taylor Wagner had the two hits with Carney homering in the bottom of the sixth for Salisbury. Carney, a senior, also threw seven innings and struck out five Crusader batters in the game.
The tandem of Carney and Wagner have been hot lately with Carney going 7-for-13 (.538) at the plate with a home run and two RBI in her last four games. Wagner, a freshman, homered in a 7-3 loss to Bangor (2-5, 2-7) and has hits in her last two games for the Lady Falcons.
Jenna Swoyer, another freshman player for Salisbury, collected two hits in an 8-4 loss at Wilson (4-2, 4-3) last Saturday.
The upcoming schedule has a trip to Kintnersville to play Palisades (4-2, 5-3) before home games against Southern Lehigh (3-2, 3-4) and Saucon Valley (1-5, 1-5).

re Friday and Saturday. The Falcons and Panthers meet at 6:30 Friday night and will be broadcast on PennSportsRadio.com and the Penn Sports Radio app.
