Mae Sara Kemmerer, 91, formerly of Emmaus and Loudonville Assisted Living Residence, Albany County, N.Y., died April 17, 2024. She was the wife of the late Gerald R. Kemmerer who predeceased her by 19 years and nine months. Born in New Tripoli, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Hollenbach and Ellen (Snyder) Bond.
She was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1950 and was a member of the Mercantile Club in Emmaus.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Emmaus for over 70 years, where she was active in the Lutheran Women’s League and Historical Society.
She worked at Josh Early Candies, Homespun Weavers of Emmaus and was an amazing seamstress and tailor. She was a loving wife and devoted mother.
Her interests included volunteering with other community church members, playing cards in different social groups and being an avid gardener who also loved flowers.
She is survived by children, Kent G. and his wife, Yvonne, Kathleen L. Oswald and her husband, Tim, Kurt L. and his wife, Amy; grandchildren, Casey, Nathaniel, Joshua, Courtney, Sydney, Sarah.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 18049.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. April 26 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. A visitation will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church.
