District News: Community classes underway

Northampton Area School District’s spring community classes are underway. This program offers a diverse range of courses that cater to personal interests and promote fitness and leisure activities. The courses are taught by experienced instructors and are priced affordably.

The classes include yoga sculpt 7-8 p.m. April 25; aqua aerobics 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 30; and lap swim 7:30-8:30 p.m. May 1, 8, 15 and 22. All classes are held at NASD locations.

Reminder: PSSA testing began April 22 for students in grades 3-8. The first window of testing will be in language arts. The April 29 testing will be in math and science. Makeup tests will also be given April 29.

Students, be sure to get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast the next morning. Remember to be on time each day.

There will be a parent meeting for the Borough, George Wolf, Lehigh and Moore elementary schools instrument safari, planned for 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 25 in the cafeteria at George Wolf. The meeting will be regarding elementary music programs throughout the district.

Spring concerts are coming up in NASD.

The Northampton Area High School band will perform 7-8:30 p.m. April 26 in the auditorium.

Northampton Area Middle School students will be on stage 7-8 p.m. May 6 for their Naturals concert.

Borough and Lehigh band students will entertain 7-8 p.m. May 6 in the auditorium of NAHS.

The Moore Elementary Chorus Orff Ensemble will hold its concert 7-8 p.m. May 8 in the gymnasium.

George Wolf and Moore students will perform 7-8 p.m. May 13 in the cafeteria at George Wolf.

The NAMS Drama Club will present the play “Peter Pan” 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 12 in the auditorium at NAHS.
