John R. Stranzl, 70, of Allentown, a talented musician, artist and painter, known to his friends and fellow musicians as “Johnny Jam,” died April 8, 2024.
He played guitar, harmonica, sang and wrote songs and had his own band, the Rebeltones.
He also performed with the Trendsetters, Rhythm Jacks and many other musicians throughout the area.
He loved fishing and trains.
He was a 1971 graduate of Parkland High School.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John J. and Helen M. (Yagerhofer) Stranzl.
He is survived by sisters, Mary Ann, wife of Matt Frinzi, of Breinigsville; Rita, wife of Tom Cramer, of Nazareth; and Janet, wife of Jody Arner, of New Ringgold; niece Jennifer Cramer of Long Island, N.Y.; and nephews Jeffrey Cramer, of Nazareth, and wife, Gaby, and daughters, Dara and Zoey; Tom Cramer, of Nazareth, and wife Jeneen and children, Tommy and Sadie; Mike Frinzi of Macungie, and wife Ruby and daughter Milana; Matthew Frinzi of West Chester, and wife Stacey and sons Roman and Monte.
His memorial service will be April 24 at Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, South Whitehall.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Service at 11 a.m.
