Delaney Troxell fires a four-hitter and had 17 strikeouts to lead the Rough Riders to a 6-0 victory over Salisbury Tuesday night. The win brought the Roughies to a 2-4 record on the season.
Troxell also was four-for-four at the plate with three RBIs. Sophia Becker was two-for-three with three RBIs.
Troxell now needs four hits for 100 in her career and 12 strikeouts for 500. Troxell tied her game-high in strikeouts from a game last year.
“I thought I pitched one of my better games,” said Troxell. “I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Brianna Deschaine behind the plate. She frames the ball well and helps me get calls.
“This win was great for our team confidence. It sets up great for the rest of the week.”
The Roughies will be back in action Wednesday against Executive Education at Pates Park for a 6 p.m. tilt, and they will host Pen Argyl Thursday.

Fotta leads the team in hitting with a .381 average and has a team-high three RBIs. The Roughies will host Pen Argyl Thursday.
