Batten, Lozada win two events each against NWL

The Salisbury track and field teams competed against Northwestern Lehigh last week.

The Tigers won the boys meet 106.5-43.5 and took the girls meet by a score of 127-23 as both teams improved to 2-0 this season while Salisbury’s teams fell to 0-2.

The Falcons’ Steven Lozada won a pair of events in the boys meet, taking first place in pole vault and triple jump. A Salisbury teammate finished in second place in both of those events. Two other Falcons won events at Jacob Cadet broke the tape in the 100-meter dash and Jairo Suarez won the 110-meter hurdles.

In the girls meet, Emily Batten was the Falcons’ only event winner. She took first place in both the 1600 and 3200.
