SHS blood drive April 16

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, will host an indoor yard sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 13. The event includes crafts and vendors. Food will be available for purchase. If interested in renting a table, contact Louise at 484-456-1148.
Jerusalem will also host bingo 2 p.m. April 21. Doors open 1 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase. All are welcome. For more information, contact Louise at 610-866-1611.
Friends and members of Jerusalem Church will clean up around the campus and paint lines in the parking lot 11 a.m. April 27. Lunch will be provided for volunteers. Help is needed.
Salisbury High School will hold its spring blood drive 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 16. Appointments are required and can be secured by contacting Megan Basile at mbasile@salisburysd.org or www.GIVEaPINT.org with sponsor code 0490. Before you donate, remember to get a good night’s sleep, drink plenty of fluids and have a good meal. Photo ID is required for all appointments.
Salisbury Middle School will hold its annual spring concert 7 p.m. April 18. This is always a great event showcasing the talents of our SMS students.
The time is quickly approaching ... Pennsylvania System of School Assessment testing for elementary and middle schools will occur April 22-24 and 29-30 and May 1-3.
SHS Keystones will run May 13-14 for algebra, May 15-16 for biology and May 20-21 for literature. The school district asks that if possible any appointments and vacations be avoided at this time to complete this testing.
A Salisbury baseball clinic will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 at SHS. The SHS baseball program, in partnership with the Salisbury Youth Association, would like to invite all baseball players to a skills and drills clinic for students aged 7-14. Registration must be completed by April 14. There will also be basket raffles and 50/50 tickets available for this community event. Registration can be completed at syasports.net
St. Luke’s will be holding a soccer camp running 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday June 18 through Aug. 8. The camp will be held at the St. Luke’s Sportsplex, 4636 Crackersport Road, Allentown. Camp is for boys and girls ages 5-12 with age groups 5-7, 8-10 and 11-12. The camp will offer alternating weeks of specific focus including foot skills, passing, positional play and speed/agility training. The Lehigh Valley Humane Society will hold a purse bingo at Fearless Fire Company April 14. Doors open 11:30 a.m. with bingo 1-4 p.m. There is a cost per person and food and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring a donation for the animals and receive three free raffle tickets. SYA will host a community day 1-4 p.m. May 4 at SMS. There will be a basket raffle, soccer clinic, whiffle home run derby and a 3vs3 basketball tournament.
The township yard waste drop off sites are now open. The Devonshire site will be open April 8, 11 and 13 and the Franko site will be open April 15, 18 and 20. The sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
