Helen C. McAfee, 85, formerly of Allentown, died April 4, 2024, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. McAfee.

Born in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Charles V. and Margaret (Fox) Heitzer.

She received her nursing degree from Pittsburgh Hospital.

She worked at the former Liberty Nursing Home for 25 years as director of social services and admissions, retiring in 1994.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.

She is survived by three sons, Michael P. and wife Margaret of Dover, N.H., Daniel J. and wife Eleanor of Breinigsville and Brian J. of Philadelphia; a brother, Daniel V. Heitzer and wife Patricia of Bethlehem; two grandchildren, Patrick and Catherine of Boston, Mass.; nieces; and nephews.

There will be a calling time 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., April 11 at the church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown.
