Rose M. “Rosy” Mudrick, 85, formerly of Orefield, died March 30, 2024, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.

Born in Wanamakers, she was the daughter of the late Paul G. and Elsie A. (Reinhart) Levan.

A 1956 graduate of Slatington High School, she became proprietor of Wanamakers Hotel (Washington House) from 1970-87.

She later worked as a dining room manager for the Berkleigh Country Club, Kutztown, and the Woodstone Country Club, Danielsville.

She last worked for The Terrace at Phoebe, Allentown, until retiring in 2013.

Her survivors include her son Kurt R. Nissen of Orefield; daughters Kelly A. Follweiler of Lehighton and Stephanie P. Farber of Orefield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister Marlene (Richard) Smith of Doylestown.

She was predeceased by her brother Marlin Levan.

Her funeral service will be 7 p.m. April 5 in Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of the service.

The Rev. James W. Levan will officiate.

There will be a private interment at Jacob’s Union Cemetery, New Tripoli.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C., 20090.
