An underwater love story washes up on stage with “Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” 7 p.m. April 11, 12, 13; 1 p.m. April 13, 14, Nazareth Area High School, 501 E. Center St., Nazareth.
Director Sandra Jameson is aided by Assistant Director Devin Cetnar, Choreographer Jenelle Castrignano and Vocal Music Director Craig Albert.
“‘The Little Mermaid’ has just been so much fun to work on,” says Jameson.
With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright, the musical is based on the 1989 Disney animated film of the same title, which was based on the Danish fairy tale “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen published in 1837.
The 2008 Broadway production received two Tony Award nominations.
Production numbers include “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Her Voice” and “Kiss the Girl.”
