Stiles: Breakfast set for April 7 at Maennerchor

West Coplay Maennerchor will hold its last breakfast of the year 8 a.m.-noon April 7. This is an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet for members and nonmembers

The menu includes scrambled eggs, omelet station, bacon, sausage, pancakes, French toast, cream chipped beef, sausage gravy, toast and potatoes along with coffee, milk and juice. The bar is open for bloody Marys, mimosas and bellinis.

There is a cost, but children ages 5 and under eat for free.

All who purchase breakfast will be eligible to win a door prize. There is also a bake sale and 50/50 drawing.

All proceeds from the event will benefit West Coplay Maennerchor’s fund for building improvements.

Whitehall Chapter of AARP will be holding its monthly meeting for members and guests April 9 at the Schadt Avenue Playground building, 1975 Schadt Ave. The doors will open 11:30 a.m., and lunch is served approximately noon. There is a small fee for lunch.

Entertainment will be provided and future travel plans will be discussed. Membership dues for 2024 are also due. Bring a canned good for Whitehall Food Bank.

Former Whitehall resident Bob Frey, along with his teammates Bill and Carol Forrest, of Wildwood, N.J., and Tom Mettes, of Michigan, recently clinched first place in the Island Division of the Charles J. Peneno Marco Island Florida Bocce League. This win entitled them to play in the tournament, which took place March 27 at Mackle Park on Marco Island. Frey and his team took fourth place in the tournament.

The bocce league consists of 168 people on 42 teams and are divided into seven divisions. They play two games once a week for 10 weeks.
