Congratulations to Catasauqua High School and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute student Brandon Larkin, culinary arts, who won a silver medal in hospitality and tourism during the Pennsylvania FCCLA state leadership conference in Lancaster March 18-20.

Brandon earned enough points in his respective event to qualify for nationals this summer, which will take place June 29-July 3 in Seattle, Wash.

Time is running out to purchase your CHS yearbook for the 2023-24 school year. Just the yearbook can be purchased for $54, the basic package costs $71, and the deluxe package is $80.50.

Each package provides additional options and enhancements.

LCTI recently announced it was extending the 2023-24 school year because the snow days have outnumbered the extra days built into the calendar this winter. As a result of the school year being extended, LCTI has decided to cancel Camp LCTI for 2024.

Fortunately, though, one of its education partners, Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, is offering two STEM-focused day camps for kids this summer.

• Tech Titans: Summer Spy Camp is set for 8-11:30 a.m. July 16, 17 and 18

• Young Stemologist Academy will be held 8-11:30 a.m. July 23, 24 and 25

Both camps will be held at CLIU Central Office, 4210 Independence Drive, Schnecksville.
