Joan D. Schwartz, 93, formerly of Macungie, died March 13, 2024, in Fellowship Manor. She was the wife of the late Vernet I. “Neddy” Schwartz. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Dorothy M. (Hummel) Moyer.

She was a 1949 graduate of Emmaus High School and a 1952 graduate of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked as a registered nurse for Good Shepherd and Lehigh Valley Hospital.

She was an active member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie, serving on the church council.

She was an energetic volunteer in the community at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Emmaus Board of Health and Kalmbach and Macungie memorial parks.

She is survived by a son, Dean C., of Emmaus; daughter, Barbara J. and her husband, Gregory Ebner, of Emmaus; grandson, Logan and his wife, Allison, of Northampton; sisters, LeAnn and her husband, James Warmkessel, of Emmaus, Marjorie and her husband, Richard Eisenhard, of Pittsburgh.
