Jean M. Peters, 96, of Allentown, , died on March 22, 2024. She was the wife of the late Richard Peters.
She was a bookkeeper at Office Utilities and United Wesleyan and Muhlenberg Colleges until she retired.
She is survived by a daughter, Dr. Jill Peters (Rich Swirsding) of Bethlehem; a son, Bob Peters (Connie) of Mount Joy; six grandchildren, Christopher Peters (Mary Grace) of Lancaster, Jen Styer (Mark) of Mount Joy, Tony Swirsding (Brandi), Dana Murnin (Tony) and Tom Swirsding, all of Bethlehem; a step-grandson, David Swirsding (Sue) of Chalfont; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was a member at several churches including Zion, Seibert and Christ E.C. She was a Sunday School teacher.
She was active in LV. Christian Endeavor and CELTS. She was a bowler and was a treasurer and statistician in several leagues. She was a member of the Quilt and Embroiderers Guilds. She was an instructor of quilting, embroidery and sewing at the Lehigh County Senior Center. She knitted hundreds of hats and sweaters for many agencies including The Salvation Army, Cancer Center and LV Hospital NICU.
