Greater LV American Cancer Society event supports cancer research

The American Cancer Society Greater Lehigh Valley will be hosting the Cancer Telethon Lehigh Valley, in conjunction with the Cancer Telethon based at Penn’s Peak, Saturday, April 6 at the Delta Hotel by Marriott in Breinigsville from 2-8 p.m. This event will serve to raise funds for critical cancer research, as well as ACS support programs for the local cancer community, like Hope Lodge and Road to Recovery.

“It has been a pleasure to work with the Cancer Telethon at Penn’s Peak for so many years, and we are excited to host this first fundraising style event that will feature music, food, raffles and check-ins with the live broadcast,” said James Pepe, senior development manager with the American Cancer Society. “Members of our Board of Advisors have worked diligently to bring together some great local musicians and raffle items to help launch this new event.”

The Cancer Telethon Lehigh Valley will be hosted by Alex Fydryszewski of WALN TV and Mike Kelly of B104. The music line-up consists of Rameen Shaygen and cancer survivor Dina Hall, The Beautiful Distortion featuring Men Wear Pink Alumnus David Doll and Union Jack, featuring Dennis Hower, the 2023 #3 in the nation fundraiser for Men Wear Pink.

Tickets can be purchased at https://cancertele24.givesmart.com or contact James Pepe at james.pepe@cancer.org. The ticket includes entry for the event and a meal, along with access to the raffles that include stays at 3 Lehigh Valley hotels, golf at local courses and more.

The 45th annual Northeast Pa. American Cancer Society Telethon airs Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 from Penn’s Peak on Service Electric Cable channels 913/914 in the Lehigh Valley from noon to midnight both days.
