Salisbury Township schools closed March 28 through April 1 for spring break

While we may officially be in spring, we do live in Pennsylvania where Mother Nature tends to need some reassurance and takes some time to make up her mind. I know for sure, I am missing the weather we had recently with the warmer temperatures and hope it returns sooner than later.
Many signs of spring are observable around the township with all the flowers in bloom.
Just a reminder, all Salisbury Township schools will be closed for spring break March 28 through April 1. Schools will reopen April 2.
Mark your calendars. Salisbury Middle School will hold its annual spring concert 7 p.m. April 18. This is always a great event showcasing the talents of SMS students.
The time is quickly approaching. Pennsylvania System of School Assessment testing for elementary and middle schools will occur April 22-24, April 29-30 and May 1-3.
Salisbury High School students will take Keystone tests May 13-14 for algebra; May 15-16 for biology and May 20-21 for literature. Salisbury Township School District asks if possible any appointments and vacations be avoided at this time to complete this testing.
The Salisbury Township Recreation Committee is seeking camp counselors for the 2024 summer playground program.
The program runs at various township parks from mid-June until July.
Applicants for counselor positions must be 16 years old with their own transportation to and from the park to which they are assigned. Applications can be submitted online at the township website or by stopping in the municipal building, no later than April 1.
The Salisbury Baseball Clinic will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 at SHS.
The SHS baseball program in partnership with the Salisbury Youth Association invites all baseball players to a skills and drills clinic for students ages 7-14. Registration must be completed by April 14. There will also be basket raffles and 50/50 tickets available for this community event.

St. Luke’s University Health Network will hold a soccer camp 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays June 18 through Aug. 8. The camp will be held at the St. Luke’s Sportsplex, 4636 Crackersport Road, Allentown.
The camp is designed for boys and girls ages 5-12 with age groups designated for athletes ages 5-7, 8-10 and 11-12.
The camp will offer alternating weeks of specific focus including foot skills, passing, positional play and speed/agility training. For registration, use the QR code posted with more details on the district feed or contact Timothy.McGorry@sluhn.org with questions.
The Lehigh Valley Humane Society will host a purse bingo fundraiser at Fearless Fire Co., 1221 S. Front St., Allentown, April 14. Doors open 11:30 a.m. with bingo games played 1-4 p.m.
There is a cost for tickets and food and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring a donation for the animals and receive three free raffle tickets.
