Is a District 11 three-peat in the works for Freedom’s boys’ lacrosse team?
It’s certainly on the table for the Patriots, who have won back-to-back District 11 3A titles and come back with another loaded group this spring.
“We have the deepest team in my nine-year tenure at Freedom,” said head coach Tony Fabrizio. “We lost very good players to graduation last year, but have numerous new players looking to step up and make an impact on the team. We have a very talented freshman class, who can have an immediate impact for us.”
This year’s team is led by seniors across the board including attackers Alex Greenberg, Nick Moniz and Antonio Solivan.
The midfielders are led by senior Jared Karabinus (First-team EPC, EPC MVP, USA Lacrosse All-American), along with Simon Hume (Jr), Caden Dudek (Sr) and Julian Muniz (Jr).
Defenders include Jonah Ortwein (Sr., first-team EPC, USA Lacrosse Academic All American), Jacob Cochran (Sr), Ryan Ellis (Jr), Sam Nueffer (Sr) and Alex Salim (Sr). Senior Gabe Scotto returns in goal and newcomers TJ Ray (So), Brady James (So), Liam Sipel (Fr), Chase Sipel (Fr) and Miles Andreas (Fr) should be factors.
“We will look to continue to grow and develop every game, which will hopefully land us back into the league and district finals,” said Fabrizio.
Antonio Solivan is one of the key players back for the Freedom boys as they eye another title this spring.
